Cai Mep, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Viet Nam - On 5th January 2018, CMIT officially connects its terminal operating system with e-customs system to manage and supervise export, import, transit and transshipment cargo in and out the terminal.

On December 29, 2017, the Ministry of Finance signed the Decision No. 2722/QD-BTC allowing Customs Department of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province and Ho Chi Minh City to pilot apply management and supervision automatically for export, import, transit at the seaports and civil international airport.

CMIT is trusty selected by Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Customs to be the first container terminal in Cai Mep - Thi Vai connecting with e-customs system to manage and supervise the customs clearance for cargo in and out the terminal. This is not only beneficial for customs offices but also for many stakeholders such as shipping companies, im-exporters,…Customs clearance process of cargoes will be carried out through e-system quickly, conveniently and cost-cutting.

For CMIT, it will be updated cargo information by electronic timely and accurately, thereby to increase the efficiency of operations and improve the quality of services for customers. In particular, connecting terminal operating system with e-customs system to manage and supervise the customs clearance of cargo in and out the terminal will increase the competitiveness of Cai Mep and more facilitate the development of an international transshipment hub.

To mark this meaningful event, on the same day CMIT held a ceremony about the connection of management and supervision e-system for export, import, tranship and transit. Attending the ceremony were leaders of BR-VT Province People’s Committee, leaders of the Provincial Customs, customers and partners of CMIT.
